Advertising Council Australia, digital transformation and rebrand for the advertising industry body
In 2019/20 I led a major rebrand and digital transformation project for Advertising Council Australia (formerly The Communications Council). Maud created the visual identity and I took a high-level homepage mockup and evolved it into templates and transactional pages.
The 15 year old .aspx site had over 1400 findable files which had to be carefully migrated toWordPress or retired. I engaged and collaborated closely with an external developer who set up the more complex code while I managed the content and CSS.

The design process
After engaging closely with the CEO, operations, events and professional development teams I developed and presented the information architecture, internal templates and user flows. With minor tweaks the wireframes were approved. I built out pages, migrating content, url redirects and collaborated closely with the hosting company.
With a minor interruption from COVID, we successfully launched the new site and new brand in mid 2020.

Streamlining for easier maintenance
It was an opportunity not only to overhaul the content but to refine the interactions we had been struggling with as a company. Duplication of effort and tedious news and graphic updates were top of that list.
A main requirement was that the site had to integrate with the incumbent CRM and event booking system – Arlo. The developer set up the intial javascript snippets to my specifications and integrated them into templates to seamlessly pull the information in from the API. Removing the need to enter details twice.
